My Story

Creativity and design have been a common thread throughout my entire life. When I was a young girl I used to sketch rooms in our house and redesign them with different furniture pieces and decor.  I always felt like I could express myself best through my creativity whether it was a room I restyled or an outfit I put together.  My love for design followed me to Creighton University where I majored in graphic design and advertising.  After I graduated from college I married my husband Ben and worked in digital marketing before starting my most important job, becoming a mother in 2014.  In April 2017, I started my blog as an outlet for my love of home decor and design. Fast forward to today, I am a stay-at-home mom to my three sons and there is not a dull moment in our house!  My blog, Kate Knowles Home, is focused on our home journey and my everyday life.  My hope is to help people live inspired lives everyday by thoughtfully decorating their living spaces with beautiful, livable style.

Our Home Story

My husband and I fell in love with our lot and purchased our home in 2010.  As our family grew we made the decision in 2017 to knock down our home and build our forever home on our same lot.  We spent 2018 planning and designing our new home and it was completed in September 2020.  If you would like to follow along with our home and everyday life, check out my instagram.
