Good morning! Today I am going to talk to you about a new local home store in Omaha. If you aren’t local, stay with me because I am also going to talk about 5 home decor trends that I am loving right now! I hope you find some inspiration for your own home, and if you do be sure to hover over any image and save it to your Pinterest boards!
Amethyst Home opened this fall and is located in Countryside Village here in Omaha. When you walk into the store you get a Restoration Hardware European vibe and it is so refreshing. There really is no place like it in Omaha. Amethyst Home specializes in made-to-order seating, unique rugs, lighting fixtures, wall decor, and various home accessories. I love and appreciate that Monica, the owner, focuses on buying products for her store that are great quality and are built to last.
She also has a variety of beautiful home accessories in her store, and you all know I love throw pillows. I couldn’t resist this lumbar one! I love the texture of it and the leather trim. This shade of blue went perfectly with the other pillows on my sofa, too!

5 Home Decor Trends I Love
1) Neutral, light sofas. I know those of us with kids are scared of this, but stain resistant fabrics that can wipe up spills like they never happened are an option now! Amen! Monica carries several fabric swatches in store so you can feel the fabrics and customize your furniture to exactly how you want it to be. Her furniture line, Verellen, is known for its “european depth” so they are a few inches deeper than a typical American sofa and they are made here in the USA. You can view all the different sofa styles here. Doesn’t this sofa look so cozy and elegant at the same time?(Camille sofa pictured from Verellen.com)
2) Vintage looking neutral rugs. Amethyst Home carries hundreds of Loloi and Jaipur Living rug samples in store. You can even browse the samples and reserve them online, and then pick them up at the store. These rugs come in standard sizes and custom sizes, too. These are a couple of my favorite vintage looking styles she carries:

3) Lantern light fixtures. These are my favorite style of light fixtures right now! I love the casual elegance they bring to any home. I was so excited to see this chandelier in person at the store. It is gorgeous!
4) Gray-washed furniture. Another favorite of mine lately is gray washed furniture. Everything from dining tables to coffee tables, it just adds a softness to any room. I especially loved this desk when I was in the store. Aren’t the details on it so beautiful? If you aren’t a fan of the gray washed look, the furniture Monica carries in store comes in several other finishes. Monica has wood swatches in store you can browse through.
5) Velvet accents. Lately I have been loving velvet accent pieces. Whether its a velvet chair or velvet throw pillow, I love the texture velvet brings. Fall and winter are great seasons to add a bit of velvet to your home. These throw pillows caught my eye at the store.
Monica also offers free design services! These services are offered complimentary through her store: paint color consultations, custom upholstery styling, furniture selection, rug selection, bookshelf styling, design board inspiration by room, seasonal decorating, and new construction home model staging.
Lastly, she goes to market twice a year. If you send her a picture of something you spotted on pinterest or in a magazine and want for your home, she will personally source it for you at the showrooms and arrange direct delivery to your home or business. How awesome is that!
