April 2011:
The demolition took us longer than anticipated and we were getting anxious to move onto drywall in the spring of 2011. Our wedding was just 4 months away and we still had a lot to do. With the drywall completed we could finally see our house take shape. Our home originally was very closed off with pocket doors and almost every light fixture was a ceiling fan. In fact, there were three in the kitchen alone (which is why there is not a single ceiling fan in our house today!). It was exciting to see how different our house felt by opening up a few walls. I was eager to get through the drywall phase because my favorite parts came next: paint, trim, tile, and flooring.
