Holiday Gift Guide for Toddlers and Little Kids
We have grown to be pretty picky about the toys we get for our kids. Our first choices are things they can rebuild multiple times and use their imagination with (legos, duplos, magna-tiles, wooden train pieces, building blocks, etc) and outdoor toys. Also, when in doubt art supplies are a great gift idea, too!
- Little Tikes TotSports Easy Hit Golf Set: All three of my boys loved (and still love) this golf set. We have tried other plastic ones, but this set is a classic and has proven to be indestructible.
- Best Choice Products 110-Piece Kids Magnetic Tiles Set: All three of my kids love their magna-tiles and while this one isn’t the magna-tile brand, it is just as good and its a great price, too.
- Melissa & Doug Stacking Train – Classic Wooden Toddler Toy (18pc): This train has been passed down through our kids. Each of them loved it when they were about 1-3 years old. Its fun to stack all the pieces and they can drive it around, too.
- Maxim 100 pc Mountain Wooden Train Set: All three of my kids enjoy playing with these together. They love building different train tracks and enjoy getting new pieces (like bridges and tunnels) for their birthdays. Over the years we have accumulated several wooden train track pieces and they still have fun finding new ways to build the tracks.
- Pottery Barn Kids My First Gray Harper Anywhere Chair: I don’t know what it is about this chair but all three of my kids have loved having their own and still use them everyday. They come in different sizes, too.
- Strider Classic 12″ Kids’ Balance Bike: Teddy tried this out at his cousins house and couldn’t get enough. They can glide on it and set their feet down as needed, and it helps prepare them for riding a real bike.
- Mini Boden Appliqué Top & Pants Set: Boden makes the cutest clothes for babies, toddlers, and little kids. It’s one of our favorites! They also have adorable sets for girls, too!
- LEGO DUPLO Construction Wrecking Ball Demolition: Duplos are another toy my kids have stayed interested in over the years. We have acquired several duplos and they love making construction sites and adding to their collection. This year Harris (4 years old) asked for this set.
- SoftScape Toddler Playtime Corner Climber: These are fun for babies just learning how to crawl and as they learn to explore.
- KicKee Pants Print Footie with Zipper: When our boys were babies these were our favorite for sleepers. They are the softest and the feet are lined with fleece! They also make two-piece pajamas for toddlers, too.
- Peg Perego John Deere Ground Force 12-volt Tractor Ride-On: I can’t say enough about this power wheel. We got ours for our oldest son, Jack, when he was 3 years old and all three of our boys have enjoyed it. It comes with a trailer for hauling things around and has enough power to go through the grass. It’s so much fun!
- Northface Toddler ThermoBall™ Eco Hoodie: Love these coats and still buy them for our boys every year as they grow. They are thin enough for them to wear in the car under a seatbelt, easy to pack in a diaper bag, and they are so warm, too!
- Little Tikes Easy Store 3′ Trampoline: For getting all that energy out on the super cold winter days. We still have ours in the playroom and they like to jump on it!
Holiday Gift Guide for Kids
- Nintendo Switch Console with Neon Blue & Red Joy-Con: This is the first year we have looked into getting a gaming system for our oldest son, Jack. Reviews say it is easy to use and family friendly.
- Transformers Toys Heroic Bumblebee Action Figure: Jack, Harris, and their cousins enjoy playing with these when they get together.
- Northface Boys’ ThermoBall™ Eco Hoodie: Love these coats and buy them for our boys every year as they grow. They are thin enough for them to wear in the car under a seatbelt, easily pack in a diaper bag, and they are SO warm, too!
- Super Deluxe Essential Handbook (Pokémon): I am not sure what the fascination is with Pokemon, but it seems to be a “thing” in first grade. Jack enjoys reading this and thinks it’s pretty cool.
- LEGO City Fire Station Building Set with Emergency Vehicle Toys: This is such a great set for the price. We have started to acquire a collection of lego sets and this is a fun one to put together!
- DEERC D20 Mini Drone for Kids: Jack loves to fly his drone outside with Ben, and when Ben gets his drone out the boys think its pretty cool.
- Callaway Golf XJ Junior Golf Set: Jack is really into golf and growing out of his first set of clubs so we plan to upgrade him soon. There are tons of kids golf sets for any price point. Here are a couple that are under $150 (here and here) and come with a bag, too.
- Pottery Barn Kids Mackenzie Hard Sided Luggage: These always come in handy when traveling or for overnights. Our kids love having their own suitcases, too. Here it is in pink.
- Hot Wheels Speedster Go Kart Ride On: Jack and Harris have these and love to ride them with neighbors. They are basically a mix between a bike and a go-kart. So fun!
- AIR FORT: Our kids love to build forts so I think this would be right up their alley! All you need is a fan and it makes a fun for them to play in.
- Pottery Barn Kids Toiletry Bag: This is a must for overnights or for traveling!
- Art Set, 82 Pieces by Creatology™: For the kid that loves to color! This one is such a great value, filled with nice quality art supplies. It is on Jack’s list this year!
- Gap Kids Cozy Moccasin Slippers: In the winter my kids love wearing slippers. These ones are soft and cozy, and Gap has great sales.
- Gap Kids Fleece Robe: All three of my boys have this one. It is so soft and cozy and washes up really nice!
I hope these holiday gift guides have been helpful! Happy shopping!
