Since we have moved into our house the question I am asked the most is about paint colors so today I am sharing the paint colors and the sheens we used throughout our home. Some of these photos were taken on my iPhone during construction so I apologize if they aren’t super high quality.

Benjamin Moore Simply White
We wanted our home to feel mostly bright and light so we kept our color scheme pretty simple. We chose three paint colors for the entire interior of our house.
All of the white you see in our house is Benjamin Moore Simply White, on the walls, trim, wainscoting, ceilings, kitchen cabinets – everything. We did a semi-gloss sheen on the trim/cabinetry, eggshell on the walls, and flat on the ceiling. It is such a pretty warm white without being too creamy.

Benjamin Moore Hale Navy
We used Benjamin Moore Hale Navy in Harris and Teddy’s bathroom and on the bonus room (playroom) barn doors. We did a semi-gloss sheen in both spaces.
Benjamin Moore Blue Heather
My office cabinets and our serving buffet in the kitchen are Benjamin Moore Blue Heather. It is a gray blue color, but more of a blue than a gray (if that makes sense!). We did a semi-gloss sheen in both of these spaces.

I’m having my kitchen cabinets redone by a local cabinet refinisher in a few weeks, and I love the look of your white cabinets and gold hardware. What color of white did you use? It looks amazing in your kitchen. My kitchen is smaller and has less natural light than yours, but do you think white cabinets would still look good?

We used a local stone company called Balthazar and their “morning fog” stone minus the dark pieces. Hope that helps!

Is the Blue Heather you used mixed at full strength or was it reduced by a percentage? I love your office cabinets so much and want the same for my office, but the color looks so dark on the paint chip.

Melissa TerlinskyIt was full strength on the cabinets. We also did it at 50% on our front porch ceiling and I love it there too, if you wanted to go lighter 🙂

I just painted my bathroom cabinets Hale Navy. I got gold mirrors and knobs/pulls. The faucets and towel bars are chrome. What finish would you recommend fir the shower curtain which is White with black words (SAT vocabulary study curtain). Initially I was thinking Black matte, but maybe it should be chrome?

LaurenWe used the following tiles in the checkered laundry room:
The gray marble: Artistic Tile Bardiglio Imperiale Honed 12×24 and had it cut into 12×12 pieces.
The white marble: Artistic Tile Statuary honed 12×24 – also cut into 12×12 pieces.

Do you feel like your walls ever pull yellow given that simply white is a warm color? We are debating between simply white or a cooler white that pulls more gray/blue. We have a very modern vibe (woods/blacks/navy)

Your Hardie shingle siding is the best Hardie shingle I have seen. I think it is because of the color you chose.
I see that you state it is Benjamin Moore, Coventry Gray. What sheen di you use?

I wish Hardie made them thicker so the shaow line was beefier, but it looks good on your home!
Also, you mention that your dinette exterior is SHERWIN WILLIAMS SNOWBOUND.
What about the rest of the exterior trim color and sheen?

Thank you for your kind words! I am not sure on the sheen for the exterior paint. We used Sherwin Williams Snowbound on all of the exterior trim, including the dinette exterior. I’ll ask our painter to see if he knows about the sheen on the exterior.

Or did you go with standard “ceiling white”? Paint can be so tricky and I appreciate you sharing what you used in your lovely home.

I am building and chose BM Coventry for my siding and SW snowbound for my trim based on your photos, I love the combination. Can I ask what colour eavsetroughs and soffit colour you used? I’m worried that a standard white colour will make the snowbound appear dirty..
