Hi friends! Welcome to my first ever summer home tour. I decided to split my tour into two, an interior home tour and an outdoor garden tour. This is the interior part of my tour. I kept my summer decor simple this year by adding just a few seasonal touches and I love how it turned out! Sometimes all you need is a little bit of seasonal decor here and there.
You will see that I incorporate a lot of fresh flowers from our landscaping in our home. My favorites are these endless summer hydrangeas. The colors are so vibrant!

American Fashion Book: Amazon | King Tut Grasses: Mulhalls |
If you remember, I used to have lamps with black shades on this buffet. I felt like it was making this space heavy so I replaced them with these gold open caged lamp bases and found off-white lamp shades at Target. It was an easy change and it instantly made this space feel brighter.
When I started looking for summer decor, I was excited to stumble upon these beautiful vases at Von Maur. I love this shade of blue especially for summer. I knew I wanted to add some greenery in them but I wasn’t sure which would look best. I tried a couple of large palm and banana leaves but they just didn’t fit the style of this space. I found these “King Tut” grasses at a local store and love how they turned out! I like how airy they are but still give a tropical and summer vibe.
The bowl of lemons is my favorite accent. Simple and cheerful!
We keep our kids’ toys stored in the bins in the left corner (the rest is in their playroom in the basement). I like to use these so our living room doesn’t feel cluttered. Jack and Harris love to play with their trucks so I found this pretty basket at Pottery Barn and keep them in there for easy access. You will also notice that I decided to switch out our throw pillows. If you haven’t discovered Jules & Tone on etsy, she makes beautiful, well made pillow covers for a really reasonable price.

I found this lamp at Spruce Interiors here in Omaha. I like that it is smaller and you can stack a couple of books underneath it. If you are local, Spruce has beautiful tables and home decor accessories! Every time I go I see something else that inspires me.

I like to keep fresh flowers by my sink. To keep them lasting as long as possible, I switch out the water every two days and re-cut the bottom of the stems at an angle. A florist at Whole Foods once told me that hydrangeas like hot/warm water and lots of plant food. I have found that compared to other cut stems, hydrangeas seem to last the longest. These lasted a week and a half, but I have had some last for two whole weeks before!
