I can’t believe the time has come to move Harris into Jack’s room. If you are new to the Renovated Acre, I am due in March with our third little boy so we have been working on getting the boys bedroom ready and the nursery. Our home has three bedrooms so I knew one day Jack and Harris would need to share a bedroom. This day came so quickly! Four years ago in January 2014 I had my oldest son Jack. In May 2016, only 20 months ago, I was bringing Harris home from the hospital to his nursery. Now we are expecting our third son in 8 weeks and preparing the nursery for him. Time is flying by and my boys are growing up so fast!
I am excited for our boys to share a room together. I think it will teach them a few lessons about sharing and being considerate of one another, at least I hope. I wanted to make their new room feel special but also didn’t want to spend a lot on new beds that will be temporary. The only new furniture in their room are the two beds and they were a great deal on Wayfair. The dresser, mirror, bookshelf, rug, and nightstand I repurposed from Jack’s original room.
I knew I wanted upholstered beds for their room and did a lot of research about headboards vs. an entire upholstered bed. There are so many different styles and I found that I personally like when the headboard goes all the way down the side and back. Sometimes the headboard ends right at the mattress level which can cause a gap between the headboard and mattress. These details can make a difference in the look you are going for and I wanted these beds to look tailored. I have to tell you, these beds were such a steal! Only $180 each and overall we are really pleased with them. They didn’t require a box spring and they sit a little lower to the ground, which is perfect for my boys age right now. I love their navy color and tailored look!

When I was searching for new artwork for the boys bedroom, I spotted this piece on an Instagram auction to help a family who had lost their home due to Hurricane Harvey. My son Jack’s favorite song is What a Wonderful World by Louis Armstrong (due to Finding Dory) and I thought this piece would be so cute in between their beds.
I hope you enjoyed today’s post about the boys bedroom reveal! If you did, be sure to hover over any image and save it to your Pinterest boards.
Thank you so much for stopping by and have a great Monday!

I absolutely love this room and plan to do my little mans bedding the same. I do have a quick question. Did RH do the embroidery on the pillows? I’ve never had anything embroidered by them but in the past I was not happy with PB embroidery. I just wanted to ask before I ordered the navy pillow with embroidery. Thank you so much for such a cute inspiration!
