Mother’s day is this weekend and I have been thinking about all of the special moms in my life, but first and foremost my own mom. I am so thankful to have had the best role model for my sisters and I growing up. We would definitely not be who we are today without her guidance and love. My mom has so many amazing qualities but her generosity, empathy, and fun and energetic attitude are the ones that stand out the most to me. I have also been blessed to have a wonderful mother-in-law whose kindness and creativity continually inspire me. And my sister-in-laws, girlfriends, aunts, cousins, and sister Emily (who is expecting her first in July) are all amazing moms I get to confide in and ask for their advice regularly. How lucky am I to have all of these awesome moms in my life!
On Mother’s Day we are spending brunch with my mother-in-law and husband’s side of the family, and dinner with my mom and my side of the family. The weather is supposed to be gorgeous on Sunday so I thought we would eat outside on the patio and enjoy the sunshine. This table was so simple to put together, and the best part is the turquoise patterned napkins and mercury glass vases are included in the extra 30% off sale items at Anthropologie! Anthro has such unique pieces and they almost always have a sale on their home goods. I have found it’s best to check the actual stores because there is more inventory on sale in the store than online.
The turquoise napkins came in a set of 4 and were on sale for $13.96. The vases were about $9 each. I found peonies at Whole Foods and took most of the leaves off and then just put a few in each vase. I thought it would be a fun surprise to have each of the moms take a vase from the table to keep. I was going to use these chargers for my table (marked down to $6.95 each in store!) but they won’t be here until the end of June… bummer! But stay tuned because I will be using them all summer long. Aren’t they gorgeous?!
