Can you believe Thanksgiving is a little over a week away?! Last year I created a white and neutral Thanksgiving tablescape, but this year I thought I would switch things up and add a hint of blue. It must have been my fall theme this year because our living room was decorated with neutrals and blue. I just love that combo! Today I am going to show you step-by-step how I created my Thanksgiving tablescape.
Step One: Start with a Neutral Table Runner
Lay the foundation. I personally think it is smart to invest in basic, neutral table linens (if the size of your table will be the same for awhile). I use this table runner all year long! It’s a great base for layering because it would go with any napkin you choose and it adds texture to your table.
Step Two: Add Placemats
I thought these disposable placemats were so fun! I got mine from Spruce Interiors here in Omaha, but if you aren’t local you can find them online here. They have so many different styles and easy clean up is always a plus in my book!
Step Three: Add Chargers
Sometimes I think of a tablescape as an outfit. Dress in layers! 🙂 These woven placemats act as chargers and add texture. The best part is they are under $5 each.
Step Four: Add your Centerpiece and Candles
I repurposed my leaf tray, faux white pumpkins, and some fall faux florals I had around the house to create the centerpiece. I just laid the faux florals on the bottom then placed the faux pumpkins on top. I added in real little white boo pumpkins from Trader Joe’s to cover up any of the stems from the florals. Last I added two lanterns I got from Amethyst Home and mercury glass votives. Aren’t those lanterns beautiful? I love the leather strap handles!
Step Five: Set the Table
Last, I added our white dinner plates, salad plates, napkins (similar), stemware, and flatware.
