Water resistant wood floors made for real life and families
A durable, livable, and beautiful home for our family was our goal when we built our home in 2020. With three young boys who tend to be hard on our floors, we wanted to make sure our wood floors could withstand spills and dirt tracked inside our home. I first talked about why we chose our Entropy Hearthwood Floors in this post. Today I am going to talk about their durability and how they have held up over the last eight months.

In the last eight months we’ve had several spills, including an accidental waterfall going over our kitchen island (thanks Teddy). I have been so impressed with how our Hearthwood wood floors have held up. I haven’t noticed any buckling due to water exposure or shifting with wear and tear. Hearthwood’s water resistant wood floor technology and aluminum oxide polyurethane finish make our floors extremely durable.
WetWorxTM Water Resistant technology
Hearthwood’s wood floors are unique because all six sides of every Hearthwood floor plank is finished with WetWorkTM Splatter and Spill guard. WetWorx is an innovative water-resistant technology that prevents moisture absorption up to 250% more than competitive hardwood brands. We plan on having our wood floors for a long time, so it is essential that they continue to look beautiful and withstand everyday use.
Hearthwood floors are also Swiffer® WetJet Wood™ Mop approved, which makes cleaning them a breeze. My boys think the Swiffer WetJet is the coolest and actually ask to use it often!
Protective finish for everyday wear and tear
Hearthwood wood floors are finished with an aluminum oxide polyurethane that protects their wood floors against scratches, scuffs, and everyday wear and tear. The matte protective finish lends itself to easier wood floor maintenance, making them family and pet friendly. Another bonus of the aluminum oxide polyurethane is that it provides UV protection against discoloration.
Our water resistant wood floors give me peace of mind knowing that our family can enjoy our home and floors, letting our kids be kids, and not worrying about spills. They will last us for a long time.
