Our Trip to the Kentucky Farm

In early June, Ben and I took the two older boys to Lexington, Kentucky to see his parents’ farm. If you follow me on instagram you saw a glimpse of our trip, but these photos are some of my favorites! The last time Ben and I had been to the Kentucky farm was four years ago in 2015. Our oldest son, Jack, was only 8 months old at the time. Ben’s dad had just purchased the farm and started developing the land. This was the first time were able to see the brand new barns and we were blown away by the beauty of it all!

Jack and Harris loved petting the horses, especially “Lily the Pink” because they got to feed her peppermints. I am always amazed by the power and beauty of race horses.

My father-in-law breeds race horses and all of the foals are typically born in May/June.
It was an exciting time to be in Kentucky and see the babies right after they were born!

Jack’s favorite was mowing on the tractors with Ben. Before our house was knocked down, Jack and Harris would spend hours outside with Ben doing yard work and mowing on our riding mower. They were so excited to mow the fields on the farm!
